Boris Stepanyuk Obituary – The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department announced on Saturday that a 60-year-old man from Hemet has been taken into custody for allegedly killing a 29-year-old man in Winchester. On Monday evening, deputies were called to the intersection of Winchester and Thompson roads after receiving a report of a possible deceased individual.
At the scene, they discovered Boris Stepanyuk, a resident of Winchester, who appeared to have sustained a stab wound and was pronounced dead. Through the assistance of the sheriff’s Special Enforcement Bureau and deputies from the Major Crimes Bureau, investigators identified Joseph Mokate as the suspect.
Mokate was apprehended and subsequently transported to the Cois Byrd Detention Center, where he was officially charged with murder. The sheriff’s officials have stated that there are no other individuals being sought in connection with this incident.
