Phillip A. William, Melissa K. Williams Obituary-  The Butler County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victims of a tragic house fire that occurred early Saturday morning near Rose Hill. Paula Williams, aged 80, sadly passed away at a hospital in Wichita after being rescued from the home by firefighters. Her son, Phillip A. Williams, aged 55, and his wife, Melissa K. Williams, were found deceased inside the home once the fire had been extinguished, according to the sheriff’s office.

The incident was reported to emergency services shortly after 3 a.m. on Saturday. Deputies from the Butler County Sheriff’s Office and officers from the Rose Hill Police Department promptly responded to the 15400 block of SW County Line Road. The sheriff’s office stated that they received a 911 call from a distressed woman with an unknown problem, followed by a second call from another female at the same residence who reported that the house was filling with smoke and visibility was poor.

Emergency medical services and fire units were immediately dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, first responders discovered the house fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters bravely entered the premises and successfully rescued Paula Williams, who was in critical condition at the time. Tragically, despite their efforts, she could not be saved.

The Butler County Sheriff’s Office is currently conducting an investigation to determine the cause of this devastating fire.
