Paul Kirk Obituary, Death – Two individuals sustained injuries while one man lost his life as a result of separate shooting incidents that occurred over the weekend in Claxton Bay and Carapo. According to reports, Paul Kirk, a 33-year-old resident of St John’s Trace in Claxton Bay, was fatally shot on Friday night at Sum Sum Hill in the same area. Residents of Gibbs Trace reported hearing a series of explosions around 10:35 pm that night.
Upon investigation, they discovered Kirk lying unresponsive on the floor of a neighbor’s house. He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. The Homicide Bureau officials, led by Sgt Ifill, promptly responded to the incident. The scene of the shooting yielded 19 spent 9mm shells. At present, the police have not determined a motive for Kirk’s death. As part of the investigation, a post-mortem examination was ordered.
In a separate incident, residents of Jokhan Trace in Carapo heard a series of explosions at 9 pm yesterday. Upon investigation, they found two men lying on the road, bleeding from multiple wounds. The police and emergency health services were immediately notified, and the injured men were transported to the Arima Hospital. After receiving treatment and stabilization, they were transferred to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mt Hope. Both individuals are currently in serious condition.
