Maya, a native of Texas, served as a U/AH-1 Aircraft Avionics Technician and was assigned to Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron (HMLAT) 303, Marine Aircraft Group 39, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing. Lt. Col. Jason Caster, the commanding officer of HMLAT-303, expressed his deepest condolences to Cpl. Maya’s loved ones during this challenging time.
He emphasized that their primary focus is providing support to the family of their fallen Marine and ensuring the well-being of their Marines and their families.
