Juvenal Jacobo Talavera, Hector Orozco Obituary – According to reports from the Los Angeles Times, San Francisco Gate, and ABC 30, a tragic head-on car collision occurred on a highway in Madera County, Calif., resulting in the loss of eight lives. The accident involved a 1990s GMC Safari carrying eight passengers and a Chevrolet pickup truck. The driver of the Chevrolet and the GMC driver both lost their lives, while six passengers in the GMC also perished.
The sole survivor, who suffered major injuries, was taken to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno and is expected to recover. The crash took place on Avenue 7, a two-lane highway west of Road 22, at approximately 6:15 a.m. Javier Ruvalcaba, a California Highway Patrol (CHP) Madera spokesman, provided these details to the media outlets. ABC 30 identified three of the victims as Juvenal Jacobo Talavera, Hector Orozco, and Alfredo Morales Sanchez, all from Mexico.
Talavera was also mentioned by local Fox affiliate KMPH, citing family members. Ruvalcaba expressed the severity of the incident, stating that it was the worst crash he had witnessed in his career. He emphasized the importance of seatbelts, as the driver and front right passenger of the GMC were the only victims wearing them. The CHP Madera announced the closure of Avenue 7 from Road 21 to Road 22 due to the multi-fatal crash, but it was later reopened at around 4:30 p.m. local time.
