James Q. Hampton Obituary – The deceased man involved in the Orange Mound shooting has been identified as James Q. Hampton, a 30-year-old individual. The shooting took place in the Barron Avenue area at approximately 3:30 p.m. Deputies were present in that location to execute a search warrant related to an ongoing drug investigation.
According to preliminary information, as the deputies were exiting their vehicle, Hampton was already inside a separate vehicle and rapidly approached them. In response to this, the deputies discharged their firearms, ultimately shooting Hampton, who was the driver of the vehicle. Tragically, Hampton succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Fortunately, no deputies or law enforcement personnel were harmed during this incident.
