Exauce T. Kabeya Obituary – The Georgia Department of Natural Resources spokesperson reported that a 19-year-old hiker, identified as Exauce T. Kabeya of Gainesville, drowned after falling into a river in north Georgia.
Game wardens were alerted around 12:40 p.m. on Friday that the hiker had fallen into the river above Oceana Falls in Tallulah Gorge and did not resurface. Following the notification, rescue teams, assisted by drones, initiated a search operation. After a few hours, the deceased hiker was located in the water.
In addition to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, various other agencies, including Habersham County Emergency Services, Tallulah Falls Fire & Rescue, and the Georgia State Patrol, participated in the search and recovery efforts.
