Brett W. Relyea, Melanie M. Schnurbusch Obituary – At around 2:39 a.m. on April 23, Athens Township Police Department responded to a single-car motor vehicle accident on Riverside Drive, as stated in a press release shared on Facebook. After a thorough investigation, it was determined that Brett W. Relyea, a 46-year-old resident of Owego, lost control of his vehicle while traveling at a high speed in the southbound direction. Gradually deviating from the road, the speeding car collided with a truck parked on the left side of the roadway.
According to the aforementioned Facebook post, both Relyea and the two passengers, Melanie M. Schnurbusch, 42, from Owego, and Arthur G. Bidlack, 46, from Candor, were pronounced deceased at the scene by the Bradford County Coroner.
An autopsy was conducted on all three individuals, and currently, a toxicology report and further investigation are pending.
