Robert Moore Death: 89-year-old Man reported missing has sadly died of hypothermia

Robert Moore Death – Meigs County Sheriff Scott Fitch has reported the unfortunate death of a man in Meigs County, which is believed to be caused by hypothermia. The deceased individual has been identified as 89-year-old Robert Moore, residing on Burlingham Road in Shade.

A deputy discovered Moore’s body in a wooded area near the West Shade River, several hundred yards away from his home, a little after 2 pm on Tuesday. The authorities were alerted about his disappearance shortly before 12:30 pm on the same day. According to Sheriff Fitch, Moore’s wife informed the deputies that he had been experiencing flu-like symptoms and it is suspected that he may have consumed an excessive amount of medication, resulting in adverse effects when combined with his other medications.

The wife also mentioned that Moore had been behaving strangely on Monday night. She retired to bed around 9:30 pm, while her husband remained in the living room watching TV. However, when she woke up the following morning, Moore was nowhere to be found. Sheriff Fitch stated that Moore had his cell phone with him, and they were able to narrow down the search area by pinging his phone. Unfortunately, Moore was pronounced dead shortly after being discovered.

The absence of any tracks left by Moore in the snow that had fallen indicated that he had left on Monday night. The reason behind his departure remains unknown. The coroner, EMS, and deputies promptly responded to the incident.
