Reports indicate that Laurent was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street near Northeast 149th Street and Sixth Avenue, with the driver fleeing the scene.
The impact proved fatal, leaving her family in a state of devastation. Naresh Laurent, Madette’s daughter, expressed the profound impact of the incident on their family, particularly those in Haiti. Despite the tragedy, no arrests have been made in connection with the case.
