Laura G. Erbe Obituary – A woman lost her life in a fatal collision involving two vehicles on Thursday evening in Montgomery County, located in southeast Kansas, as confirmed by authorities. The incident occurred at approximately 6:10 p.m. on Thursday on US-169 highway, around 5 miles north of Cherryvale.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2011 Ford Ranger was heading north on the US-169 highway when it veered left and collided with a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck that was traveling southbound on US-169.
The driver of the Ford Ranger, Laura G. Erbe, aged 29 and a resident of Altoona, was pronounced dead at the scene. It was reported that Erbe was wearing her seat belt.
Garrett M. Novotny, aged 22 and from Thayer, who was driving the Chevrolet, sustained a suspected minor injury, as stated by the patrol. Novotny was wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident.
Authorities have confirmed that both drivers were alone in their respective vehicles.
