Johnathon Neal Death – The Daily Leader stated that the Monticello man was discovered unresponsive in a holding cell at Lincoln County Jail. The incident occurred shortly before 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24th.
The deceased individual was identified as Johnathon Neal, aged 46. Despite efforts to save his life, Neal did not respond and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sheriff Steve Rushing of Lincoln County mentioned that Neal was in custody due to a probation violation warrant issued by Lawrence County for the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC).
The investigation into this matter will be conducted by agents from the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI).
