Faye McCoy Obituary – The woman who was fatally injured in a hit-and-run incident on the West End Bridge on Saturday has been identified by the Allegheny County medical examiner. According to the report, Faye McCoy, a 44-year-old resident of Homestead, lost her life after being hit by a vehicle.
Despite ongoing efforts by the police, no suspects or arrests have been made as of Tuesday, as they strive to determine the identity of the vehicle responsible for this tragic hit-and-run incident.
ORIGINAL STORY: A woman is dead after a hit-and-run on the West End Bridge sent her toppling over the railing overnight Saturday. Police are looking for a vehicle in connection to this case.
Pittsburgh Public Safety officials said police and medics were sent to the 700 block of North Point Drive, a parking lot underneath the north side of the bridge, in Pittsburgh’s Chateau neighborhood around 8:30 a.m. The initial report was for a woman found unresponsive.
First responders located the woman, who reportedly had significant injuries, including to her head. She was pronounced dead around 8:45 a.m.
According to Public Safety, it seems the victim, who has yet to be named, was hit by a vehicle over five hours earlier, around 3 a.m. The strike forced her over the railing to land in the parking lot below.
In an update, police said they are looking for a vehicle in connection to this hit-and-run. The car is described as a blue or black sedan with silver wheels, possibly a Hyundai or Honda, with damage to the passenger-side windshield. The sedan was last seen near Chartiers Avenue.
