Donald Davis Obituary: 62-year-old struck and killed while pushing wheelbarrow in Mt. Morris Township.

Donald Davis Obituary – On Monday evening, a tragic incident occurred in Mt. Morris Township, resulting in the death of a pedestrian who was pushing a wheelbarrow. The victim, identified as 62-year-old Donald Davis, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on Carpenter Road.

According to the Mt. Morris Township Police Department, a 64-year-old man from Flint was driving a Chevrolet Cobalt at a high speed in the westbound direction on Carpenter Road. Allegedly, he ran a red light at Clio Road, leading to the collision with Davis. Witnesses reported that Davis became partially trapped in the car, which continued to travel westbound.

The driver, whose identity has not been disclosed, veered off the road and slid backward into a utility pole. As a result, the pole broke and was left hanging over Carpenter Road. Meanwhile, Davis’ lifeless body was discovered in the front yard of a nearby residence, while his wheelbarrow remained on the road.

Following the incident, the driver was taken to Hurley Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries and to undergo a blood draw. Police suspect that the driver was under the influence of alcohol and marijuana at the time of the accident.

As of now, no criminal charges have been announced, and the investigation is ongoing.
