Dolphins vs. Cowboys score: Live updates, game stats, highlights, analysis for NFL Week 16 showdown

Dolphins vs. Cowboys score – In the matchup between the 10-4 Cowboys and the 10-4 Dolphins, both teams showcased their strong offenses, but it was the defense that dominated the first half. The Dolphins managed to take a 13-7 lead into halftime after both teams struggled to score near the goal line.

The game started with the Cowboys marching 78 yards in 15 plays, but a mishandled handoff resulted in a fumble recovery by the Dolphins defense. However, the Cowboys quickly redeemed themselves on their second drive, scoring a touchdown in just three plays. Wide receiver CeeDee Lamb made an impressive 49-yard catch-and-run touchdown, putting Dallas ahead 7-3. Lamb’s touchdown also marked his seventh consecutive game with a touchdown, joining the ranks of Terrell Owens and Dez Bryant as one of the few Cowboys wide receivers to achieve this feat. Quarterback Dak Prescott had a solid performance in the first half, throwing for 121 yards and a touchdown.

In the early second quarter, the Dolphins faced a crucial fourth-and-goal situation from the Dallas 5-yard line due to injuries to key players. Despite their efforts, the Dolphins failed to convert the touchdown, as Dallas safety Juanyeh Thomas provided tight coverage to force an incompletion and a turnover on downs. Both of the Cowboys’ possessions in the second quarter ended in punts, with Prescott facing pressure from the Dolphins’ defense.

However, the Dolphins managed to regain the lead just before halftime, capping off an impressive 71-yard drive with a touchdown. Running back Raheem Mostert, who had returned to the game after an injury, played a crucial role in this drive.
