Alecia McCullough Death: Woman killed in crash at Pacific Coast Highway and Cherry Avenue named

Alecia McCullough Death – The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office has identified Alecia McCullough, a 43-year-old woman, as the victim who was killed in a car accident while crossing Pacific Coast Highway on Sunday. This unfortunate incident marks the third fatality on PCH since the beginning of the year. The Long Beach Police Department received a call around 8:10 p.m. on Sunday regarding the incident, which occurred at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Cherry Avenue. Upon arrival, paramedics from the Long Beach Fire Department found McCullough on the road and pronounced her dead at the scene.

According to the police, McCullough was crossing PCH outside of a designated crosswalk when she was struck by an unidentified vehicle traveling west on Pacific Coast Highway, near Cherry Avenue. Witnesses reported that McCullough had just passed through an Arco gas station and was heading towards a laundromat across the street when the accident occurred. Tammy Long, a bystander, stated that McCullough appeared to be riding a bicycle and was dragged several yards by the car that hit her.

Long expressed concern about the lack of visibility and the frequency of fatal accidents along that particular stretch of the highway, emphasizing the need for increased safety measures. The driver involved in the accident remained at the scene and cooperated with the police investigation. Authorities have determined that neither distracted nor impaired driving played a role in the crash.

The Long Beach Police Department urges anyone with information about the incident to contact Detective Kelsey Myers from the LBPD Collision Investigation Detail at 562-570-7355. Anonymous tips can also be provided to Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.
